Freight Terminal Station Information |
CHS - Charleston, South Carolina Freight Terminal |
Actual Location: N. CHARLESTON, SC 29418 Hours of operation: 8am-7pm (Monday - Friday)
Terminal freight shipping is a lot cheaper then door-to-door shipping. It is our pleasure to be able to offer our customers an option of shipping from or to this terminal.
Terminals are freight drop off and pick up locations, usually located in close proximity to major international airports.
Terminal-to-terminal delivery requires the Shipper to drop off the freight at the origination terminal, and requires the Consignee to pickup the freight at the destination terminal. Once freight arrives to the destination terminal, the Consignee is contacted and informed that freight is ready for pick-up.
To send freight from the terminal, the Shipper must bring the freight to the address of designated terminal, where freight should be unloaded on the dock. The Shipper must provide the Bill of Lading number to the receptionist - this informs the terminal staff that this shipment is being dropped off and is ready to be shipped. The Shipper must obtain a signature from staff at the terminal - the signature serves as confirmation, that freight has been accepted at the terminal.
To pick-up freight from the terminal, a Consignee should go to the address of designated terminal and locate the terminal receiving area. To identify the shipment being picked-up, let the staff at the terminal know your shipment Bill of Lading / Tracking number.
